T-Mobile High Speed Internet Merchandising Smallware
In Q3 of 2022, T-Mobile was in the midst of rapid growth their 5G high speed home internet product. An updated device was being introduced to the entire fleet of stores, and would need a new smallware to merchandise the demo.
The design brief specified that the new smallware communicate at a glance that this device was intended to provide wifi internet access within the home.
Concept Sketches
I explored a number of ways that we could communicate the use of the device. I looked at adjacency to collateral, associating the device demo with a dimensional WiFi symbol, and placing the device inside a dimensional icon of a home. Ultimately the way forward chosen was positioning the device inside a home. Once I had a chosen concept, I worked out the physicality of the design, and conducted a fleet-wide spatial study to ensure that the smallware would work in all situations.
